Del brings a vast amount of experience at this level to Johnstone Burgh. Having announced his signing from Pollok ahead of the 2023/24 season, manager Jamie McKim made Esplin the club captain. During his spell at Pollok, he made 112 appearances, plus a loan spell at Caledonian Braves. Prior to Pollok, he had a spell at Cumnock Juniors, sandwiched between two spells at Rutherglen Glencairn.
He was instrumental in his first season with us, as he led us to promotion, although his season was marred by missing four months due to injury. Despite missing four months his performances, when fit, didn't go unnoticed as he scooped the Social Media Player Of The Year for 2024/25.
During the 2025/26 season, only goalkeeper Luke Scullion and centre back Danny O'Neill (both 40) made more starts than Esplin (37) as he captained the side to finish 3rd in the league and winning the Scottish Junior Cup.
