Johnstone Burgh secured three points after a hard fought 2-1 win over top-of-the-table Troon, at a cold but sunny Portland Park, Troon.

Mason then had his second chance of the afternoon in the ninth minute, but his powerful shot from 14 yards flew just over the bar. The Burgh number 11 will feel he should have scored.
The next twenty minutes or so were pretty uneventful before Burgh striker Kyle Lafferty came close to scoring, but his shot from six yards was well blocked by the Troon defender following Blair Rossiter's pass across goal after 32 minutes.
In what was a fairly low key first half with Troon not troubling the Burgh defence, Aaron Mason had the final chance of note for the Johnstone side but his 25 yard shot flew high and wide of the right hand post in the 40th minute. Both teams would go in level at the break.

As the game settled, Johnstone Burgh would take the lead in the 69th minute as Kyle Lafferty's powerful volley from the edge of the box was brilliantly saved by Burgess, but Danny O'Neill was in the right place at the right time to produce a cool finish from six yards into the bottom left hand corner of the net, much to the delight of the travelling support.
